Christina Rossetti
Christina Rossetti (1830-1894) was born into a highly educated family of writers and artists. Her mother was an especially strong influence in her early life both academically and spiritually. In her mid-teens Rossetti developed her own strong religious convictions which influenced her life and her literature. Master of many genres--including nursery rhymes and hymns--Rossetti rose to prominence as one of the finest English poets of the 19th century. Devotional themes were important throughout her career.
Using the links below, you can encounter two of her poems related to the parable of the Prodigal Son.
