Kilian McDonnell
Kilian McDonnell (1921- ) is an American Catholic monk, theologian, university professor, ecumenist, and poet. Born in Montana, McDonnell has studied, taught, and ministered around the world. Although during most of his career he served as a professor of theology, he was often called on to be a voice of reconciliation between the Catholic church and various Protestant groups. It was not until the age of seventy-five that McDonnell began to focus on poetry. It is no wonder that the thoughtful poems you are about to read came out of such a rich life of theological reflection and meaningful service.
